The Future That Was exhibition
— Eternal Return is the concept that our universe and subsequently our world and lives have been (and will be) endlessly reoccurring. Time thus, is not viewed as linear, but as cyclical. Although this concept is found in various ancient cultures, it was re-introduced by Friedrich Nietzsche, to become a frequently addressed and debated existential concept, finding its echo in science, mathematics, astronomy, religion, philosophy and art. Connected to the idea of the Eternal Return is the concept of Absurdism, another existential theory that juxtaposes humans desire for value and meaning within an indifferent, incomprehensible and irrational universe.
